When you first think of a low car or keto chocolate mousse, what first comes to mind? Having to slowly cook it over the stovetop and hopefully, you won’t scorch it? Or maybe a dessert that requires setting time in the fridge perhaps?

You’re in luck my friend, because this version requires no cooking and it can be eaten immediately after mixing!

While we’ve been eating low carb (or keto in my husband’s case) for almost two years, I’m just kicking myself that it’s taken me until recently to realize how amazing chocolate keto mousse and keto whipped cream really is!

So many wasted dessertless nights when we had cravings and didn’t think to make chocolate mousse (keto-friendly of course.) Plus we almost always keep a container of whipping cream in the fridge and could’ve whipped up light and fluffy low carb chocolate mousse recipe anytime a craving hit.

 Ingredients for Low Carb Chocolate Mousse

You truly won’t believe how quick and easy this simple low carb chocolate mousse is, with just 4 ingredients and no stovetop cooking required, this is the perfect dessert to satisfy your sweetness cravings.

While some chocolate mousse recipes are not quick and require slow cooking a batch on the stovetop, we really wanted to create the best keto chocolate mousse you could whip up in a snap with basic keto-friendly ingredients.

What You Need:

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder (Dutch-process preferred)
  • 1-2 Tbsp Swerve erythritol sweetener
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Add-on: You could also mix in 1/4+ cup cream cheese if you want the consistency a little thicker, but our personal favorite was just to use thickened whipped cream as the base.

Garnishes: In the photos, we used Lily’s stevia-sweetened chocolate chips and a sprinkle of freeze-dried raspberries. Keto whipping cream also adds a yummy vanilla contrast.
